TOGO – Gozem, a transport technology startup, has partnered with Coris Bank International Togo to allow its driver-partners to access low-interest loans towards the purchase of new motorcycles.

The new partnership will allow Gozem driver-partners to purchase new motorcycles at a competitive rate and flexible repayment period

The strategic partnership will enable the ride-hailing startup’s driver-partners to access performance-based financing and is a step towards large-scale, data-based financing in the informal sector.

“This partnership with Coris Bank International Togo is a further step in that direction as it actualizes the dream of many high-performing drivers and enables them to affordably access new vehicles without incurring the high costs often associated with hire-purchase (‘Work and Pay’) or other alternative agreements.”

As a reported fist of its kind partnership in West Africa, the motorcycle financing programme will allow high performing Gozem drivers to access new, high-quality vehicles.

The financing plan will allow Gozem drivers to pay off a new motorcycle by re-paying the outstanding balance each day via their Gozem wallets. New motorcycles can be purchased at ‘very’ competitive interest rates and over flexible repayment periods.

In addition, the partnership will allow Gozem to provide key services to establish reliable credit for its driver-partners and includes credit scoring, KYC, tracking, daily payments, and default collections.

Access to new and more efficient motorcycles for Gozem driver-partners will improve passenger and driver safety and result in increasing a driver’s daily income revenue.
