EGYPT—Telecom Egypt, a telecommunications provider, has forged a strategic alliance with Huawei Cloud to launch Huawei’s inaugural public cloud platform in Egypt. 

This initiative is aimed at propelling the nation’s digital transformation agenda forward.

Telecom Egypt’s data centers will host the new public cloud platform, which is poised to expand to over 60 countries worldwide. 

Telecom Egypt’s extensive network of over 14 submarine cable systems, projected to increase to 18 by 2025, will facilitate this global connectivity.

The partnership aligns with Telecom Egypt’s overarching strategy to position Egypt as a leading regional hub for cloud computing and digital services. 

By leveraging its robust network infrastructure and industry expertise, Telecom Egypt plans to seamlessly integrate Huawei Cloud solutions into the existing technological landscape, ensuring a smooth transition and effective management of the new services.

Huawei Cloud touts a comprehensive suite of scenario-based solutions and over 240 advanced professional services. 

These offerings encompass the entire spectrum of cloud engagement, including the construction, migration, utilization, and management of cloud resources, catering to the diverse needs of businesses looking to harness the power of cloud computing.

Huawei Cloud is committed to providing Egyptian businesses with a secure and dependable cloud environment, enabling them to concentrate on innovation and growth rather than managing IT infrastructure.

Over the past two decades, Huawei has established a significant presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) regions. The company’s latest cloud initiative with Telecom Egypt is anticipated to solidify further Huawei’s reputation as responsive to these markets’ dynamic needs.

Introducing this new public cloud will grant businesses in Egypt, spanning various sectors, seamless access to cutting-edge cloud solutions. These solutions are poised to propel advancements in e-commerce, live streaming, and the sharing economy, among other areas.

He emphasized that Telecom Egypt’s hosting services will facilitate comprehensive network access within Egypt, thereby bolstering business operations and furthering Telecom Egypt’s aspiration to evolve into a prominent international digital hub supported by its interconnected ecosystem.
