MOROCCO – Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Moroccan flag carrier has revealed plans to increase operations in Brazil with a new flight connecting Sao Paulo to Casablanca.
According to the Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA), the new RAM flight is expected to be launched in December or in January next year.
Currently, RAM operates a total of five flights from Morocco to the South American nation.
The national carrier for morocco flies to Sao Paulo three times a week and also has two additional flights from Rio de Janeiro to Morocco.
The additional flight will be the fourth to Sao Paolo and will bring the total number of weekly flights to Brazil to six.
Cesar Alruiz, the sales manager for Royal Air Maroc, spoke with ANBA during Abav Expo that was held in September this year about the new Morocco-Sao Paolo route and the oneworld agreement.
“We have signed it, but now we must integrate the systems, the mileage, the data.… It takes time, but by June, everything will probably be connected,” he said.
By joining the alliance, he added, RAM will add “connectivity to stopovers in Brazil and across Latin America.”
The sales manager emphasized that the agreement will help the company to grow and increase the quality of service offered to its customers.
“Clients will get the ease of checking in two 23-kg luggage items and carry one 10-kg handheld item, since the connection flight,” said Mr Alruiz.
“For instance, if [sic] they depart from Porto Alegre (RS) to take the flight in Sao Paulo, the luggage will be included in the final, one-off ticket price. That will cut costs for passengers.”
Royal Air Maroc which has about 55 planes has been rapidly expanding its routes and now flies to over 94 destinations located in over 49 territories globally.
