NIGERIA – The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) is set to launch an investment application called ‘X-Mobile’.
The NSE, in a press statement, described the app as a dynamic and user-friendly mobile application, which is designed to enhance investors’ participation in the Nigerian capital market.
It said the mobile application, which was currently in a beta state, would be launched at the 2019 NSE Market Data Workshop in Lagos.
According to NSE, the application is designed to provide market participants, especially retail investors with a convenient, faster and real-time access to the Exchange’s activities.
The X-Mobile app will complement the NSE website and other NSE portals currently being used to provide information to market stakeholders.
Speaking during the mobile app launch, Mr Jude Chiemeka, the Trading Business Division head at NSE said that the institution will continue to leverage technology to make financial services more inclusive and to provide a superior customer experience in the access and use of capital.
According to NSE, the app features market snapshots, stock prices, market analytics, and financial news, dealing members directory and trade simulation.
The X-Mobile app is expected to be beneficial to users as they will now have ability to create personalised watch lists to keep track of chosen securities, eliminating the need to access multiple information sources.
“The app will support our efforts at financial literacy and inclusion by bringing the capital market to the fingertips of market enthusiasts and spark new interest from potential investors,” added Chimeka.
Mr Jude Chiemeka, noted that the delivery of the NSE Mobile App was consistent with Exchange’s new strategic intent to leverage on the fourth industrial revolution and the era of digitisation to enhance the operation of the market.
The X-mobile app is available free of charge on Google Play Store for download for Android smartphones.
IOS version is yet to be released as it was still in the testing phase.
