NIGERIA – Kwik Delivery, a Nigerian delivery startup, has launched a new WooCommerce plugin, enabling thousands of Nigerian online merchants to integrate seamlessly its delivery service to their WordPress online stores.
Kwik delivery noted in a statement that the addition makes it the first African last-mile delivery platform to release such a WooCommerce plugin.
The e-commerce startup explained that merchants will be required to install the plug- a process that take a few minutes- for them to be able to offer Kwik Delivery’s on-demand, just-in-time delivery service to all their customers.
The delivery times according to Kwik Delivery will be cut short to just under two hours if the customers are within Lagos State.
“Kwik is the first delivery platform focused on African businesses and riders to offer a seamless, easy integration into a major e-commerce framework such as WordPress/Woocommerce.”
Olivier DECROCK – Chief Technology Officer at Kwik Delivery.
Kwik Delivery’s Chief Technology Office says that the delivery platform will continue to innovate by expanding this policy to other major e-commerce framework in the near future
On his part Founder & CEO of Kwik Delivery Romain Poirot-Lellig said, “With this plugin, any online merchant can now provide reliable, traceable and efficient same-day deliveries to their customers.”
Launched in 2019, Kwik Delivery is an on-demand, last-mile delivery platform that connects African businesses to independent delivery riders, dubbed Kwiksters.
Earlier this year, Kwik Delivery revealed that it was planning to raise €2 million to facilitate its plan to scale up business in Nigeria’s economic capital, Lagos.
The startup, which began operations in Lagos last year, is keen on increasing its competitiveness especially now that other players such as Gokada, Max, and other bike-hailing operators are trooping in to the last-mile delivery market.
The ban on bike-hailing in Lagos played a huge role in compelling most of the operators to switch market and change their services into last-mile delivery.
Their entry into the last-mile delivery business slashed the market shares of traditional delivery firms like GIG Logistics, Kwik, delivery man, Easy Dispatch, and Brain Express Courier.
The new plugin by Kwik Delivery is however expected to give the delivery company competitive advantage over its competitors even as it cuts order delivery time to under 2 hours.
