GHANA – Heavy Machinery Dealership (HMD), a leading multi-brand distributor of machinery, equipment and parts in West Africa, has held a grand opening ceremony for its outdoor state-of-the-art facility in Ghana.

HMD’s ultra-modern warehouses have in store spare parts and equipment for machines.

They also have facilities for repairing faulty machine and administrative set up as well as a range of heavy machinery for all kinds of construction works.

In a speech during the inauguration near Community 25, the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister Madam Elizabeth Sackey observed that, with infrastructure such as the ones offered by HMD, industrial growth would be boosted over time and this would lead to the transformation of the economy in Ghana.

“I would therefore urge private investors to partner with government agencies especially the MMDAs to help grow this sector, make it more profitable and give the youth the opportunity to penetrate into construction, manufacturing and the export market,” Madam Sackey said.

The Deputy Minister noted that a nation will remain poor if it failed to “diversify away from agriculture and the production of traditional goods into manufacturing and other modern activities,” therefore the establishment of such facilities was welcomed.

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of HMD, Mr. Matthew Khoury thanked the people of Ghana “for accepting us as your own and giving us the opportunity to make a difference in Ghana.”

The CEO further noted that HMD’s guiding principle was to establish long standing relationships with the people and positively reshape the community hosting it.

The Group Technical Support Manager of HMD, Mr. George Nehme revealed that HMD dealt with equipment from different brands including Doosan, Bobcat, Bomag, among others.

“we are covering almost all the needs of heavy equipment from road works, mining, construction, transportation, warehousing, etc,” Mr. Nehme said adding that the company also covered all aspects of after sales issues—from service to spare parts

Founded in Lebanon in 1976, HMD is currently operating in Ghana, Nigeria and Guinea and has prospects of expanding to other countries of Africa.
